Scouts BSA Troop 17 Mansfield of the Narragansett Council is proud to announce that Sriram Marthineni has earned the rank of Eagle Scout on August 6th, 2026.
Sriram’s Eagle Scout Service Project cleared a 1-mile red and green trail on the Mansfield Natural Resources Trust of Mansfield Richard and Jane Sheehan Nature Preserve. (https://nrtma.org/trails/sheehan/) These new trails can be accessed from Hall St. and the Access Road to the Mansfield Animal shelter. In addition, under Sriram’s leadership, Leopold benches were built and installed on the Sheen property, Dot York, WWII Nature Trail and Taylor’s Hill.
Sriram has camped with the troop in all the New England states, New York and New Mexico. Sriram has proudly worn his Boy Scout uniform while traveling with Mansfield Troop 17 over 3,000 miles to Philmont Scout Ranch High Adventure base in New Mexico. While at Philmont, Sriram served as Crew Leader, summitted the 9,003 ft Toot of Time and received the 50-Miler award which requires a trek of at least 50 consecutive miles over a minimum of five consecutive days, while fulfilling planning, conservation, and leadership requirements.
We congratulate Sriram on earning one of the most respected awards in our nation. His efforts to achieve the highest rank in the Scouting America Scouts BSA program have been amazing. Our community has benefited greatly from Sriram’s efforts to earn the rank of Eagle Scout for which we are all extremely grateful.
