Sriram Martheneni achieves the Rank of Eagle

Scouts BSA Troop 17 Mansfield of the Narragansett Council is proud to announce that Sriram Marthineni has earned the rank of Eagle Scout on August 6th, 2026.
Sriram’s Eagle Scout Service Project cleared a 1-mile red and green trail on the Mansfield Natural Resources Trust of Mansfield Richard and Jane Sheehan Nature Preserve. (https://nrtma.org/trails/sheehan/) These new trails can be accessed from Hall St. and the Access Road to the Mansfield Animal shelter. In addition, under Sriram’s leadership, Leopold benches were built and installed on the Sheen property, Dot York, WWII Nature Trail and Taylor’s Hill.
Sriram has camped with the troop in all the New England states, New York and New Mexico. Sriram has proudly worn his Boy Scout uniform while traveling with Mansfield Troop 17 over 3,000 miles to Philmont Scout Ranch High Adventure base in New Mexico. While at Philmont, Sriram served as Crew Leader, summitted the 9,003 ft Toot of Time and received the 50-Miler award which requires a trek of at least 50 consecutive miles over a minimum of five consecutive days, while fulfilling planning, conservation, and leadership requirements.
We congratulate Sriram on earning one of the most respected awards in our nation. His efforts to achieve the highest rank in the Scouting America Scouts BSA program have been amazing. Our community has benefited greatly from Sriram’s efforts to earn the rank of Eagle Scout for which we are all extremely grateful.

Ethan Souza flies to the rank of Eagle Scout

Ethan Souza, a member of Mansfield BSA Troop 17, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest advancement rank in Scouting America. Only a small percentage of Scouts ever reach this milestone.
For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Ethan led a team of volunteers to perform renovations to the Mansfield Historical Society Copeland House. The Copeland House is the headquarters of the Mansfield History Center. It is located at 53 Rumford Avenue. It is where most of the historical society collection can be found. They welcome visitors.
Congratulations Ethan to adding your name to the history books with earning the rank of Eagle Scout within the 103-year-old BSA Troop 17 of Mansfield, the oldest troop within the Narragansett Council Northeast District. Through your community service efforts and leadership, you have not only helped the Mansfield Historical Society, you have also made history with this achievement. Keep up the great work.

Mark Daaboul - Troop 17's 96th Eagle Scout

We are proud to announce that Mark Daaboul has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout the highest honor in Scouting on the evening of November 25th, 2025.
Mark has not only met the requirements for Eagle Scout, but he has also demonstrated the qualities of independence, good time management, leadership, empathy, problem solving and teamwork that the world has come to associate with that of an Eagle Scout.
Mark's Leadership Project was improving the accessibility at our historic Springbrook Cemetery. Mark's team installed lane markers to help visitors more easily find their loved one's sites.
We are proud to add Mark Daaboul to list of Eagle Scouts, and we offer our congratulations on his earning this achievement.

Jarrod Gaudette Eagle Scout

On Monday November 17, 2025, a young man in our community earned a title that he shall carry with him for the rest of his life and that title is Eagle Scout.
For his Eagle Project Jarrod and his team refreshed the entry to the Congregational Church of Mansfield at 77 West Street. Jarrod's team took on the daunting task of repainting the two-story entry into the church, beautifying and preserving the historic structure for all. His team also put up dry wall, painted and erected shelving in a new storage area at the church. We offer our congratulations to Jarrod Gaudette on reaching the summit in his scouting trail.

Ryan Gillogly Eagle Scout 2025

1/7/2025

Ryan Gillogly completed his Eagle Scout Leadership Project at the Marie Streese Conservation Area. His project improved trail accessibility by laying down boardwalks over wet areas, and created bird watching areas (including benches and birdhouses).

Ryan is a senior at Mansfield High School. He is the band’s drum major, president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and is active in MHS’s concert band, jazz band and the winter percussion ensemble. He also serves in the Order of the Arrow as the Tulpe Lodge Annawon Chapter Secretary, and continues for a third year as a senior staff member for the Camp Norse National Youth Leadership Training course. He is looking at pursuing an education in Biomedical Engineering.

Eddie Kasprzyk - Eagle Scout

Eddie Kasprzyk achieved the highest rank in scouting today after completing his Eagle Board of Review.

Eddie's project improved the Mansfield Housing Authority courtyard area at 15 Park St, benefitting over 50 elderly and disabled residents. His team built three picnic tables, including two that were handicap-accessible. He also repaired the existing picnic table and bench. His team power washed the cement patio and plastic furniture, and cleared out the weeds, planted flowers, installed a decorative flag stand and built a bird house. His project will bring much enjoyment to those who use it, letting them enjoy the outdoor space.

Brendan Robinson Advances to Eagle Scout

Many people pass by the inconspicuous road on Rte. 106 by the Fire Station, but after Brendan Robinson's Eagle project, they may wish they has stopped. Brendan transformed an overgrown and unattractive area at Mill Pond in Mansfield to a wonderful ADA-accessible park. He built four benches to sit along the path, spread mulch and planted a beautiful garden. This project opens up the area to visitors and makes it an enjoyable rest spot.

Noah Griffin is Troop 17's 90th Eagle Scout

In the 97-year history as a troop in Mansfield, Noah Griffin has become the 90th member of the troop to earn Eagle Scout which prior to 1956 was called Troop 1/Post 1 which received its charter in 1923.

Noah has proudly worn the Boy Scout uniform while traveling with Troop 17 during which they have visited 20% of the states in our country and traveled over 2,000 miles from Maine to Florida. As a member of the troop, Noah has over 100 nights of camping, completed over 150 miles of hiking, earned 56 Merit Badges and completed over a hundred hours of community service with the troop.

As a member of Troop 17 Noah has had the opportunity to meet and listen to our town veterans after marching in the Veterans Day and Memorial Day parades. He has honored our past veterans with the placement of flags at the Mansfield Springbrook Cemetery prior to every Memorial Day along with the members of Troop 17.

Noah’s Eagle Scout Service Project cleared the 1.2 miles of existing trails at the Taylor’s Hill Conservation Area in Mansfield and doubled the amount of hiking trails open to the public on the property by restoring an additional 1.2 miles of trails. The re-opening of a 1-mile long blue trail along the Rumford River on the property is now the longest trail in the Taylor’s Hill Conservation Area. Noah recruited and managed over 2 dozen volunteers working over 12 weekends to complete his Eagle Service Project. Noah and his team spent over 300-man hours working on the trails to complete his Eagle Project.

Noah’s Eagle Scout project benefited the Town of Mansfield and its residents. His leadership on this project has filled an even greater need for outdoor space within our community during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is fitting that Noah completed his last Eagle Scout requirement on the National Day of Giving as his time and energy over so many years in Boy Scouts has benefited our community.

We congratulate Noah on earning one of the most respected awards in our nation. His efforts to achieve the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America has been amazing.

Nathan April is an Eagle Scout!

We are proud to announce that Nate April has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, a feat which only a fraction of youth reach.

For Nate's Eagle Scout Leadership Project, he provided an indoor physical outlet from Robinson Elementary school students. By creating a sensory path, children with special needs, who may have difficulty focusing while in a classroom setting, can calm their overloaded senses. The path included elements to provide a playful way to improve balance, cognitive and gross motor skills of those who use it. This project will directly benefit youth, helping them achieve their educational goals in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Tommy Petrucci has earned the rank of Eagle Scout

Tommy Petrucci completed the final requirement, the Eagle Board of Review, via a video conference in a COVID-adjusted protocol. "Improvise, Adapt, Overcome", may be the unofficial slogan of the Marines, but it applies to the Boy Scouts, as well.
Tommy completed an amazing Eagle Scout Project that saw "Lockdown Buckets" go in every school room in the Mansfield Public School district - over 400 buckets!

His project was so impressive that Brian Crandall of NBC 10 WJAR net up with Thomas to discuss his wicked awesome Eagle Project.

Tommy's project provided an emergency kit, hopefully to never be used, in the event schools need to lockdown. Each bucket contains items to help secure the room (such as door wedges, hammers, duct tape and rope) & items to help pass the time and keep everyone calm (coloring books, crayons, and cards).
