Our Dec 21st meeting finished off a month of music exploration with a open mike night. It was a great night of live music and a little comedy. We knew our scouts were talented, but this showed another dimension of them.

As part of our STEM-themed January, the Patrols were taxed with creating cars using only edible parts. This task tested their creativity, ingenuity, building skills, and their teamwork. As you can see, it was messy, but the races were incredible.
The winner and champion! At our November 10th Troop meeting, we were honored to have Mr. Earl Mason talk to us about Veterans Day and Mansfield's veterans. Mr. Mason is an Air Force Veteran, Mansfield native. He is also the author of a book, "The Mindset of a Patriot: A Badge of Honor", which provides accounts of Mansfield's fallen veterans from World War I to the Vietnam War. Mr. Mason graciously gave his time to help our scouts learn a little more about what Veteran's Day really means. Thank you, Mr. Mason! The new Scout season is upon us! Let's have a great year! The new SPL and the two ASPLs did a great job kicking off the year's first Troop meeting. Last night, we said goodbye to the outgoing PLC and welcomed the new PLC. Ian B., our new SPL, took a minute to sit down with the Troop to chat about how he would like to run things. We know the new PLC will do their absolute best to run our Troop, and thank them for stepping up to lead our Troop. We're looking forward to your fresh ideas! We'd like to thank the outgoing PLC. Mike H., you and your PLC did a terrific job in running Troop 17! |
