Continuing with our cooking theme for the month. Patrols were given troop17's best imitation of "Chopped". Each patrol had a bag of groceries, and only the SPL knew the contents. The Patrols were tasked with cooking the recipe found inside the bag. They were challenged with biscuits from scratch, monkey bread, foil packet dinners, lasagna (made with frozen ravioli), dump cobbler, quesadillas, beef stroganoff and Chatahoochie cheesecake. Scouts judged the competition, and declared deliciousness all around. The favorite was the cheesecake.

Troop 17 showed our support for our veterans by marching the Mansfield Veterans Day Parade. The Scouts were especially honored to meet Mansfield's oldest veteran, Gilda Barr. Troop 17 ventured back to their home base, Camp Norse in Kingston, MA, to try their hands a Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience (i.e., C.O.P.E.). We found the course to be fun and, as promised, challenging. We will definitely be back to this one. |
