Let's give a big cheer to Mr. Whitaker for helping to spruce up our Scout Room! He volunteered a couple hours hanging and painting the strapping for the rank emblems. Thanks, Mr. Whitaker!

The rank emblems are now hung. Next step, everyone needs to get their names on the blocks of wood to hang underneath. Remember, you can decorate them any way you want (as long as it's Scout-appropriate). Will you be the first to get your name up?

Don't miss the Troop 17 Pasta Dinner on March 23 at 5:30pm at the Congregational Church (17 West St.).
Dinner will be served from 5:30-7p.m., followed by a showing of "Follow Me, Boys," the 1966 comedy starring Fred McMurray as a scoutmaster in the 1930's. The cost of the dinner is $10 adults, $5 seniors or children 12 and under,with a $30 maximum per family.
Bring your scouting memorabilia, pictures and stories to share, as the Troop prepares to celebrate its 90th anniversary in June of this year.

Summer Camp deposits ($50) are due tomorrow at the Troop meeting.  If you are an older Scout, please indicate if you have interest in any of the Older Scout programs (COPE, SPOKE, Valley Voyagers).

There will be a pack inspection at the troop meeting on Monday, March 11 for those attending the Howe's Cavern/ Baseball Hall of Fame trip.

Be prepared by bringing your pack, packed for winter camping, to the Troop meeting. The Troop's winter camping list can be found in the downloads section of the Troop website.

Remember that the site is three hour away, and is at a higher elevation than in Mansfield. You can expect temperatures to be in the low 20's.

The campsite will have lean-tos; however, there are no cots. Plan your sleep system accordingly.
