Welding Merit Badge for Hidden Valley

Update to the Hidden Valley merit badges - Welding Merit Badge.

This differs from the schedule and form handed out last Monday. Please take note when selecting your program.
  - Welding is available to Any Scout aged 13+ (was 14+)
  - Welding will be offered at 9am or 10am all-week long
  - Welding will no longer be offered through the SPOKE program

Last night, Scouts were given forms to select their program/ merit badges at Summer Camp. Parents should review the selections with their Scouts to help them get the most out of Summer Camp. 

Merit Badge Selections are due back to Mr. Gillogly on April 28.

There are three merit badge sessions offered during the day.  Some badges are one session, while others (many of the Eagle-required badges) are two sessions.  Be sure to check the schedule, so that you do not overbook.  The schedule was handed out to all Scouts present at the April 14th meeting.  You may also find the schedule on page 30 of the Leader's Guide.
We highly suggest consulting the Pre-requisite Guidebook before making your selections.  This guide will tell you all you need to prepare for ahead of camp. 
If you have partial merit badges that you wish to complete, it is not necessary to register for the badge again.  Please consult with Mr. Gillogly, should you wish to complete a partial badge.

Eat at the Ninety-Nine Restaurant, and Support Troop 17!

Troop 17, the epicurean troop, will be holding a fundraiser, and it's as easy as ordering a meal.   On Thursday, April 17, 2014 between noon. and 8:00 p.m, when you present this flyer (below) at the Foxboro Ninety Nine Restaurant, a portion of what you spend will be given to the Troop 17.

SPREAD THE WORD!!!  Please pass this flyer out to anyone who you might think is interested.

Mt. Monadnock Trip (May 16-18) Sign-up Now

We have an exciting trip planned for May 16-18!  The Troop will be heading to New Hampshire to conquer the grand ol' Mount Monadnock.  This trip is sure to be full of adventure, beautiful vistas, and maybe even a glimpse of Bigfoot!  

Permission slips and fees are due by April 28. 

We will be staying at the Mt. Mondanock State Park. This trip is expected to fill up quickly (we have a limited number of camping slots), so, please sign-up early.

Scouts, we've been issued a challenge!  We have been challenged to sign up 35 people (family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, etc.) to donate blood for both the April 23rd blood drive.   Let's do our best to help out our community and beat that number!!!

If you would like to help out for the March 19th Blood Drive, you may sign up below.  The time that you put in counts towards Community Service requirements for advancement.

Reminder - Bike Inspection Tonight! (April 9) @ 7pm

There will be a bike inspection for all those attending this week's trip to Wampatuck State Park.  Scouts should bring their bikes and Packs to the church for a quick inspection. Please remember to bring the most important equipment -- a helmet.

BSA guidelines require helmets for all riders.  No exceptions!

Any Scout participating in the longboarding option must, likewise bring along his board and safety gear (Helmet, gloves and knee pads).
