The troop will be participating in the Webelos Woods campout on Sept. 28-30 at Camp Norse in Plymouth. More info to follow, but it’s important that we get permission slips and camping fees for this outing no later than this Monday’s troop meeting (Sept. 24). We are also looking for adults to drive and/or chaperone. Please let Mr. Lucht know asap if you are able to participate.

The Webelos Woods event focuses on teaching Webelos the skills they will need as Boy Scouts while exposing them to the patrol method in a boy-run troop. This year’s theme is survival skills, so stations that Troop 17’s scouts will either help teach or participate in might include Knots, Compass use, Shelters, Leave no Trace, Cooking, Staying Found, GPS use, Water Purification, First Aid Kits, etc.

After a grueling Board of Review, Jeremy Ham was told today that he has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Let's all congratulate Jeremy in being Troop 17's newest Eagle Scout.

The Troop will be conducting a flag retirement ceremony on Tuesday, September 11 from 7-8pm at the Mansfield Municipal Airport (265 Fruit St.). Anyone wishing to have a flag retired should either drop off the flag in the Scout room before Tuesday or arrive at the Airport by 6:30.

Scouts are asked to wear their Class A uniform for this event, and should plan on arriving early to help with setup.
